The Michener Awards Foundation has announced six finalists for its award recognizing excellence in public service journalism.

The Michener Awards Foundation has announced six finalists for its award recognizing excellence in public service journalism. Among the shortlist are:

L’actualité, for its coverage of how the military has handled complaints of sexual assault and harassment.

The CBC, for both its coverage of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and CBC North’s coverage of the health care challenges facing remote northern communities.

The Canadian Press, for its reporting on the Fair Elections Act.

The Globe and Mail, for its investigative series on the drug thalidomide and the lasting impact it has had on its victims.

The Vancouver Sun, for its examination of the foster case system.
