Entries are open for the Atlantic Journalism Awards. Journalists who had work published in the 2012 calendar year by an Atlantic Canadian media outlet are eligible to enter their stories and photographs.

There are 28 categories that honour excellence in a particular medium (print, television, radio, online, magazine) as well as beat reporting (arts, business and sports). The awards also include the Jim MacNeill New Journalist Award, which is open to new journalists who have worked in print, television or radio for fewer than three years that, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award.
