Maclean’s won the Online News Association award for online commentary, while the Calgary Herald won in the breaking news category.

Two Canadian publications picked up Online Journalism Awards at the annual Online News Association conference this past weekend in Chicago.

The Calgary Herald won the breaking news award in the medium circulation category for its coverage of the Alberta floods in 2013.

Toronto artist Sarah Lazarovic won the online commentary award in the medium circulation category for her work in Maclean’sShe sketched Mayor Rob Ford getting stuck in an elevator and his eventual speech at Economic Club of Canada.
