Ed Greenspon will lead Bloomberg’s energy and environment coverage.

Greenspon, who joined Bloomberg in January as its Canadian editor-at-large, has been promoted to managing editor for energy, environment and commodities. He will be based in Toronto while managing a large editorial team spread out globally.

“This is the first time, as I understand, that one of Bloomberg’s global groups is led out of Canada,” he told J-Source.

Greenspon will take over from Tim Coulter, who is based in London, U.K., and will be moving to another role within the company.

“I’m really excited. It’s an industry that influences the economy, geopolitics and the health of the planet,” Greenspon added. “Canadians have a great global outlook … and it shows we have a role to play.”
