Memo: four staffing changes at National Post
Suzanne Steel, Jen Gerson, Chris Selley and Tristin Hopper take on new roles at the National Post.

A bunch of new staffing moves:
Suzanne Steel is returning to become the dedicated editor in charge of digital for FP, overseeing fp.com and all the various verticals connected with the FP digital brand. FP digital needs a powerhouse leader, overseeing breaking business news, ensuring reporters are filing to web to hit peak traffic cycles, assessing and growing all the verticals. Suzanne will bring her years of experience and knowledge of the FP brand, and her deep knowledge of the potential of FP staff to her new role as Senior Producer, FP, helping to leverage the very best content for the digital space.
Jen Gerson becomes digital editor for Comment. She will bring her energy and enthusiasm for commentary, punditry, politics and the digital space together in this new role. Jen has been the Post’s Alberta correspondent for three years, and in that time has assumed an increasingly public profile, appearing as a regular commentator on CBC’s Power & Politics and on various radio programs, websites and podcasts. Working with the Comment team and the digital team, Jen will help deliver the best digital content and create strategies for growth and engagement. She will continue to write and comment on Alberta politics because she can’t help herself.
Chris Selley takes on the role of Toronto columnist. Chris will bring his sharp insights, his surprising takes and his excellent column-writing to the broad landscape of what he deems to be worth commenting on in Toronto, from city politics to school board shenanigans to all the various issues that consume the residents of this city. He will continue to write a weekly column for the Comment pages, and occasionally, Full Pundit. And while it was certainly a hell of a ride, Chris is thrilled Rob Ford will not once again be a primary focus of his work. For now.
Tristin Hopper will become Alberta correspondent. Tristin, who has lived and reported from Victoria, Whitehorse and Vancouver (as well as a stint in Toronto) is making his long slow way east again and now calls Edmonton home. Since joining the Post as an intern in 2011, Tristin has distinguished himself as an idea factory with an eclectic range of interest areas. He will bring all of that to the fascinating subject that is Alberta. He will also continue to write on topics that have absolutely nothing to do with Alberta.
