Alfred Hermida, the incoming chair of the University of British Columbia’s School of Journalism, was awarded with the National Business Book Award earlier this month for his book, Tell Everyone. The book, published in 2014 by Doubleday Canada and reviewed last November by J-Source, explores the way news is shared, framed and understood in the emergent era of social media.

Nominees for the awards shortlist included Jacques Poitras’ Irving vs. Irving and Spin, by Clive Veroni. More details on the award can be found on its website
