Ottawa Citizen is hiring paid interns
The Ottawa Citizen, Postmedia’s daily newspaper in Canada’s capital, is hiring for two one-year paid intern positions beginning Oct. 1 at the latest.
A journalism degree is not a prerequisite, though a passion for telling compelling stories and breaking news is. Also required, as from the posting: “Understanding and embracing emerging technologies, including social media, reporting skills and fluency in other languages, especially French, are definite assets. A driver's license is mandatory. Shift work and weekend work are involved.”
The posting notes that interns will be paid at the applicable E-3 rate in the Guild contract, which is roughly $50,000.
For more details, check out the job posting on the Citizen’s website.
