The Financial Times is reporting that the Reader's Digest Association has put itself up for a $1-billion sale "according to people with knowledge of the plans."

The Financial Times is reporting that the Reader's Digest Association has put itself up for a $1-billion sale "according to people with knowledge of the plans."

The 90-year-old mega publishing and marketing company publishes more than 90 magazines,  including, of course, Reader's Digest. The company has refused to comment, but in April it did replace then CEO Mary Berner, who had been in the top spot for four years.

Reader's Digest Association was taken private in 2007 for $2.8-billion.
