The Globe and Mail and UBC are among the recipients of 2016 Online Journalism Awards.

The Globe and Mail tied with the Guardian in the Topical Reporting category, for their piece ‘Missing and Murdered,’ which is about how five Indigenous women became targets of serial killers.

UBC’s ‘Out of the Shadows,’ which looks at how four different countries treat mental health illnesses, won the Pro-Am Student Award.

Presented by the Online News Association, the awards honour excellence in online journalism. The awards were handed out at the annual Online News Association conference in Denver, Colorado on Sep. 17.
