The publishers of the science journal Nature have set up a free "science library and personal learning tool" for students. A scan of it shows that it's also great for journalists needing to learn the basics of science topics -- although, so far, it only focuses on genetics.

This pathfinder is meant to be used as a tool for any journalist who is interested in covering subjects in the field of architecture. It is divided into sub-categories, such as general information, women in architecture, environmental architecture etc. The sites that were selected were done so because of their informational content, as well as the links they offer. Journalists will find everything from new and upcoming projects and architects to buildings of historical significance.

Science.ca, operated by GCS Research Society in British Columbia, can help you find the answer to your scientific questions.Users maycan submit questions to scientists affiliated with the site, or browse through the archives of previously answered questions. Questions are organized and searchable by popularityand by broad discipline such as engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry and medicine. The website also offers a list of other "ask-a" sites, as well as links to sites that can help students with homework, science fairs, or that provide information about careers in science.
