CBC won 30 out of the 56 RTDNA Canada awards over the weekend. Global came in second with a total of 10 RTDNA awards and CTV followed with 9.
Georgie Binks won the PWAC award for best feature story for “Tough Love,” an investigative report on teen boot camps published in Readers Digest. Jackie Middleton’s health story in the Globe and Mail on how to “Unlock the Secrets of your Family Tree” won the short articles award. Peggy Berkowitz won the PWAC editor of the year award for her work in University Affairs.

Two CBC foreign correspondents, who were detained Wednesday by Turkish police while covering protests, have been released. Petricic explained on Twitter that he and Stoffel were arrested while taking photographs of city crew as they took down protesters' barricades.
Tom Hawthorn won two Grimmies for best obituary and best body of work in 2011 at the Society of Professional Obituary Writers (SPOW) Awards for his freelance work in the Globe and Mail.
