The international Organization of News Ombudsmen (ONO) has launched a new website "to serve as a hub for their international organization and a guidepost for news consumers to make sense of both old and new media."
The ONO is a non-profit corporation that was formed in 1980 and now has an international membership of news ombudsmen.
The new website aims to provide:
- Columns, articles and blog posts written by or about ombudsmen
- Blogs and articles focusing on media criticism.
- A space where news consumers can discuss media and connect with ombudsmen from around the world.
- Information on members and membership
- Links to the web sites of ombudsmen and ONO members around the world.
- Links to other journalism watchdog sites.
- An events calendar where members can connect
