Is the press worthy of all the blame being thrown its way for failing to see signs of an economy ready to tank? Not according to Clark Hoyt, public editor of The New York Times, who analyzed coverage since 2000 and concluded:  "...the Times gave pretty fair warning of what could — and then did — happen."
