The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom is accepting nominations for a journalist who made a significant contribution to promoting free speech.
The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom is accepting nominations for a journalist who made a significant contribution to promoting free speech.
The $2,000 award is to acknowledge those contributions of journalists or media workers in Canadian print or electronic media during the past 15 months.
[node:ad]The winner will receive a certificate from the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and will be announced at the annual World Press Freedom Day Luncheon in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre on May 30.
Previous winners of the Award include: Daniel Leblanc, Juliet O’Neill, Andrew McIntosh, Haroon Siddiqui, Citizen Lab and The Canadian Science Writers Association and the Association de communicateurs scientifique.
Nominations should be sent by April 5 at 5 p.m. to Bob Carty at The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom
