The award is presented to an early-career journalist each year to support a week of reporting, research and insight-gathering on a particular issue or beat. Stone, who covers federal politics for Global, will be shadowing the RCMP for a week to learn more about how its national division investigates sensitive cases.

More information about the award can be found here; it will be presented at the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s Awards Gala on June 3.
