The University of King’s College in Halifax, NS is hiring a multimedia journalism professor for a three-year term. The position will include teaching digital production and reporting skills to undergraduate and graduate students.  

The University of King’s College in Halifax, NS is hiring a multimedia journalism professor for a three-year term. The position will include teaching digital production and reporting skills to undergraduate and graduate students.  

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree, extensive experience in the news industry and a record as a mentor in the field or as a teacher in the classroom. They should be fluent in using social media for content distribution and conversation and have experience in video reporting. They should also be comfortable with mobile platforms and interested in smart phone technology.

The faculty member will help students produce content for multiple platforms including blogs and tablets. They need not be a web developer but should be able to work with web content at an intermediate level. In addition to understanding WordPress, HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript, the candidate should have a desire to experiment and test new technologies.
