I asked CP24, Mic and Vice what it takes to be a journalist. This is what they said.

When I ask my students where they get their news from, they often name some “less traditional” news organizations. I realized that if these are the organizations where my students want to work, I need to find the best way to train them.

I went to Mic in New York City, VICE and CP24 in Toronto. I interviewed managers and asked “As a journalism/TV professor, what should I be teaching my students?”
