2019 BNC Awards

Our awards event takes place at The Music Room in Halifax on Saturday, October 26th. The evening gets underway at 6:30pm. All members are welcome to attend. It’s a great evening to connect with fellow colleagues and check out award winning local journalism being produced in Atlantic Canada. Attendance is free. If you are interested in attending, please send a quick note.
Our guest speaker will be Angela Long, who has done research on rural journalism across Canada and is due to release a book on the topic. Angela will share insights on what she heard/saw. In addition to her own work, she has written for: Utne Reader, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Kyoto Journal, The Dalhousie Review, Ryerson Review of Journalism, Folio, Haliburton Echo, Minden Times, Bancroft This Week and numerous other publications.
