COVID-19: Taking care of journalists and journalism

March 23, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

A FREE WEBINAR FROM THE FREEDOM FORUM’S POWER SHIFT PROJECT

Journalists have been working nonstop to bring accurate information to their communities. Like other Americans, their work and family lives are upended.

How are news organizations working to keep them healthy and able to do their best work? How can journalists keep an eye out for untold stories ̶  those that get overlooked?

And what about the journalism students whose internships and first jobs are now challenged? Who’s looking out for them?

The Freedom Forum’s Power Shift Project will debrief leaders from top news organizations who will share fresh ideas, best practices and candid advice.

Our guest experts include leaders from The Washington Post, Gannett/USA TODAY, Gray Television, POLITICO, The National Press Club Journalism Institute, Women’s Media Center, American University, Howard University and Syracuse University – and more.

The moderator is Jill Geisler, the Freedom Forum Institute Fellow in Women’s Leadership and Bill Plante Chair in Leadership & Media Integrity, Loyola University Chicago.

Attendance is limited to the first 100. Join in, learn and share your ideas.

This webinar will be available on the Power Shift Project site after the event.
