LAJ Free Training: Creating Your First Website on WordPress

(Note: Even if you’re still with Bell but in the “bumping” process or expect to be bumped, you’re welcome to join!)
Attendees will learn how to build, optimize, and maintain their own free WordPress website from scratch. Instruction will focus on introductory, practical “how-to” knowledge that will serve as a solid foundation for more advanced skills.
- No prior knowledge of web design or WordPress necessary
- Attendees must set up their own free WordPress account at www.wordpress.com prior to beginning.
Format: The compete training session consists of two 2-hour classes on Zoom (Saturday, Feb. 27 & Sunday, Feb. 28) — both days from 10am – 12pm PST. If you can only make one of those days, that’s fine as well.

- Setting up WordPress site
- Site settings and configuration
- Creating/organizing pages
- Classic versus Guttenberg
- Blogs and “categories” – content optimization
- Plugins
- Introduction to SEO
