Maria Ressa: Journalism Under Attack

To kick off our On Civil Society 2019 season, we’re bringing world-renowned journalist Maria Ressa to the Toronto Reference Library for a special discussion with CBC’s Adrienne Arsenault on the state of press freedom around the world.
Maria Ressa was named Time 2018 Person of the Year alongside several other journalists “for taking great risks in pursuit of greater truths, for the imperfect but essential quest for facts, for speaking up and for speaking out.”
