Student Journalists on the Front Lines of Coronavirus Coping

May 27, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Students are on the front lines of coronavirus coping in dealing with the self-isolation and emergency remote teaching. Learn more about how PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs offers a unique approach to media literacy education, with social media challenges and scaffolded media production activities. And now teachers and students can use the Making Sense of Coronavirus curriculum to explore themes of teenage mental health, economic impact and implications for the future.

Join our webinar moderated by Yonty Friesem and featuring SRL producers and English/journalism teacher Chris Sloan of Judge Memorial High School in Utah. We’ll explore key elements of this award-winning program that engages students and administrators and helps bring youth voice into national conversations about the pandemic’s impact and the recovery process.
