Montreal is set to host a media and human rights conference this month.
Officially dubbed, "The Promise of Media in Halting Mass Atrocities: A Conference to Mark the 10th Anniversary of the Responsibility to Protect", the conference will feature many guest speakers from the journalism, academic, political, and humanitarian fields.
The list includes: Liet. General Romeo Dallaire, C.J.Chivers, war correspondent for the New York Times, La Presse editor-in-chief André Pratte, and many more.
The talks will centre on the expanding, and increasingly inclusionary media landscape, and how social media as a reporting tool is changing the way the international community responds to genocide.
The event takes place from Oct 20 – 21. For more information, check out the conference website.[node:ad]
