John Honderich opens his Monday column in the Toronto Star with these sage words: "Publishing a newspaper is not only a privilege, it also carries responsibilities." While freedom of the press is cemented in Canada's Chart of Rights, he adds, it's not licence to do whatever a publisher or editor wants. Honderich then goes on to criticize Sun Media's recent decision to leave the Ontario Press Council.
