NNAs 2015: Globe takes top awards, cartoonist Bruce MacKinnon named journalist of the year

Of the awards celebrated on May 22 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto, the Globe and Mail was awarded six.

The National Newspaper Awards introduced a new honour at this year’s NNAs: Journalist of the Year, chosen among the winners of the gala’s 22 awards categories. The inaugural winner for 2015 was Bruce MacKinnon, editorial cartoonist at the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, who also took home an NNA award in Editorial Cartooning.

Of the awards celebrated on May 22 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto, the Globe and Mail was awarded six. Other multiple award winners included the Canadian Press, the Hamilton Spectator, the Moncton Times & Transcript, the Ottawa Citizen, the Toronto Star and the Vancouver Sun, with two awards each.
