2020 Jack Webster Awards open for submissions
The Jack Webster Foundation is now accepting entries for its 2020 awards, which recognize excellence in B.C. journalism across 10 categories, from digital to legal reporting.
B.C-based journalists or teams of journalists reporting for B.C. news organizations can submit print, radio, podcast, television, video or online stories for the awards. Entries must have been published or aired between June 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020 to be eligible.
Each submission requires a brief synopsis of the story’s background, significance, impact and any other relevant supporting information.
The entry fee for each submission is $25.
This year, the Jack Webster Foundation announced the new Excellence in Diversity and Reporting Award category, recognizing “outstanding journalism that has inspired truth and reconciliation and real, impactful and positive change for BIPOC people/communities and/or for LGBTQ2 people/communities and those with disabilities.”
