Winners of Canadian Online Publishing Awards announced
Globe and Mail, University Affairs, TSN, among the big winners of the evening.
Canadian journalists cleaned up at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards on Nov. 19.
The awards honour the best work by media organizations and companies annually.
The Globe and Mail won several awards in the green category for newspapers, including one for its coverage of the Ottawa shooting on Oct. 22, 2014.
TSN also won two awards for its digital feature “Favela United,” about the impact of soccer on a group of young women living in Brazil’s favelas.
University Affairs, a magazine catering to Canada’s university community, won five awards in the blue category.
The UBC Graduate School of Journalism picked up both the gold awards for best series or article and best interactive story for its students’ work on Aboriginal youth in foster care and how a younger generation is fueling change Vancouver’s Chinatown, respectively.
