Support J-Source on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3
As we head towards 2020, we have exciting plans for J-Source. But we need your help to get there.
J-Source was launched in the spring of 2007 by a collective of Canadian journalism schools and organizations to promote national discussion about journalism and journalism education, as well as provide a source for news, research, commentary, advice and resources for industry professionals, academics and students.
In the months and years to come, we hope to grow our mandate. In the meantime we look to you, as readers and stakeholders, to support us.
Last year, our Giving Tuesday campaign enabled us to commission an in-depth series exploring local journalism across Canada.
This year, we need your help to build more dedicated projects — such as one that will document and catalogue threats to press freedom across the country — and support our writers.
J-Source relies on a roster of contributors, from established voices in Canadian media to emerging reporters and journalism students. J-Source wants to be able to commission more in-depth reporting, analysis and resources, and offer the best pay possible — an imperative we hope you, our readers, will be a part of by pitching in what you can to help ensure we can improve our freelance rates.
Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3 is the perfect opportunity for you to show your support for J-Source through Carleton University’s Futurefunder program. Carleton will issue a tax receipt and match contributions received that day, up to $10,000 per donation.
So, whether you can help us with $5 or $500 on Dec. 3, your contribution will be matched — doubling the benefit for J-Source.
Please make your donation here. Help us shape the future of journalism in Canada.
