It's an oft-said phrase: Don't get into journalism if you want to make money. So J-Source combed through the Ontario Sunshine list* released on Friday to see if any journalist or those in a related field make salaries above $100,000. To qualify, this list is just for individuals who get their paycheques either indirectly or directly from the province.
Steve Paikin, the host of TVO's The Agenda, tops the list with a salary of 302,622.32, followed by the show's executive producer Dan Dunsky with a salary of $150,272.00. Last year marked 20 years for Paikin with the Ontario public broadcaster.
[node:ad]The rest of the list is populated with journalism professors, including Robert Steiner, the director of University of Toronto's fellowships in global journalism; Russell Mills Algonquin College's dean of media and design; and Charles Falzon, chair of Ryerson's Radio and Television Arts program.
