The Michener Awards Foundation is offering two fellowships to encourage excellence in journalism that serves the public interest. Applications will close on February 21, 2014 for both.
The Michener-Deacon Fellowship for Investigative Journalism, supported by a grant from the BMO Financial Group, will be awarded to a mature journalist to devote up to four months to complete a reporting project.
The Michener-Deacon Fellowship for Journalism Education, supported by the Michener Awards Foundation and the Family of the late Paul S. Deacon, will support a journalist-in-residence for a semester at a recognized Canadian journalism school.
[node:ad]Both fellowships provide $30,000 and accountable expenses of up to $5,000.
The deadline for entries for the 2013 Michener Award is also February 21. The Michener Award goes to a news organization for journalism that makes a significant impact on the public good.
