I’m pleased to announce that Chantal Braganza will be J-Source’s new associate editor. Her first day will be Feb. 2.

[[{“fid”:”3594″,”view_mode”:”default”,”fields”:{“format”:”default”,”field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]”:””,”field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]”:””},”type”:”media”,”link_text”:null,”attributes”:{“style”:”width: 401px; height: 267px; float: right; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;”,”class”:”media-element file-default”}}]]Braganza brings a lot of experience to the role, having worked in various editing roles at OpenFile.ca, Reader’s Digest and the Toronto Star. She is also a busy freelance writer whose work has been published in a wide range of publications including Toronto Life, Chatelaine, the Globe and Mail and the Star. Most recently, she wrote the cover story in the latest issue of University Affairs about the evolution of pornography studies.

She also volunteers with The Ethnic Aisle, a co-operatively produced site that critiques how issues of immigration and race are covered in and around Toronto, and is a part-time instructor and teaching assistant in the School of Journalism at Ryerson University.

Braganza replaces Ronan O’Beirne, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities. I’ve really enjoyed working with O’Beirne during the past month and wish him well with his future endeavours. His last day will be Jan. 29.
