Nominations open for CJF Aboriginal Journalism Fellowships, Greg Clark Award and The Landsberg Award
Recipients to be recognized at the 25th annual CFJ Awards on June 3 in Toronto.
The Canadian Journalism Foundation is accepting applications for fellowships and awards meant to fund coverage of underreported issues and help journalists improve their beat coverage.
The CJF Aboriginal Journalism Fellowships, now expanded to two awards, will allow two early-career Aboriginal journalists to cover issues of interest to First Nations, Métis or Inuit peoples from CBC News’ Aboriginal Centre in Winnipeg. The one-month fellowship will be covered with a $3,000 stipend and expenses costs. Application details can be found here.
The Lansberg Award, named after Canadian journalist Michele Lansberg and hosted in partnership with the Canadian Women’s Foundation, will recognize a journalist’s exceptional coverage of gender and women’s equality issues in Canada in print, broadcast or online news reporting.
The Greg Clark Award will offer one journalist an opportunity to spend up to a week observing the inner workings of an organization not typically accessible to media and meet key decisionmakers in his or her particular beat.
The application deadline for all three awards is February 27. Recipients will be recognized on June 3 during the 25th annual CJF Awards at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
