2020 Canadian Hillman Prize call for entries now open
The Sidney Hillman Foundation has opened nominations for the 2020 Canadian Hillman Prize.
Journalists or organizations that published investigative work in 2019 “in service of the common good” and leading to public policy change are eligible for the award, which will be presented at a March 2020 ceremony in Toronto. The winner will receive $5,000 and be invited to attend the U.S. awards reception in New York on May 4, 2020.
Past winners include the CBC’s Fifth Estate team, which won the 2019 prize for its work on Unbuckled: School bus safety and Jayme Poisson and David Bruser who won for their 2018 work investigating mercury contamination in Grassy Narrows.
