Canadian Journalism Foundation announces 2015 Excellence in Journalism Award finalists

The Canadian Journalism Foundation has announced the short list for its 2015 Excellence in Journalism Award, and winner for the Excellence in Journalism award in the small media category.
In the large media category, which consists of outlets with more than 50 employees, the finalists are:
The Globe and Mail, for its reporting on thalidomide victims.
GlobalNews.ca, for its reporting on how Canadian Forces and Veterans Affairs Canada are handling the issue of soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder.
The Toronto Star, for its reporting on sexual assault allegations made against Jian Ghomeshi and how sexual assault is treated as an issue on Canadian campuses.
L’actualité, for its reporting on the rate of sexual assault complaints and convictions in the Canadian Forces.
The Winnipeg Free Press, for its three-part series on the effect of Winnipeg’s architecture on the city.
The Coast in Halifax was announced as winner in the small media category for its reporting on local law enforcement’s failure to address recent cyberbullying cases in the wake of the Rehtaeh Parsons case.
