Carleton University is launching a new undergraduate degree program aimed at teaching skills in journalism and production.

The new Bachelor of Media Production and Design, which will be offered alongside the School of Journalism’s traditional programs, will launch in the 2018-2019 school year.

“This degree will combine storytelling and the explanatory skills required in journalism with the design thinking and online production skills rooted in information technology programs,” said Chris Waddell, director of the Bachelor of Media Production and Design degree program, in a statement. “Collectively, these skills can turn ideas into informative online content.”
