Christie Blatchford is leaving The Globe and Mail to become the new national columnist for Postmedia News. Starting June 13, she will file stories for publication across the Postmedia chain of daily newspapers, as well as a regular weekly column for the National Post.
Christie Blatchford is leaving The Globe and Mail to become the new national columnist for Postmedia News. Starting June 13, she will file stories for publication across the Postmedia chain of daily newspapers, as well as regular columns for the National Post.
“We are thrilled to welcome Christie to Postmedia,” said Paul Godfrey President and CEO in a release. “Christie Blatchford is a game changer in the world of journalism and we’re overjoyed to have her playing on our team. People who love her, and even those few who don’t, always read her.”
Here’s what Blatchford had to say, also in the press release:
“I’m glad to be back in the fold. It feels like my natural home. I never stopped reading National Post every day, I think it’s the prettiest and best written newspaper in the country. I’m really happy to be back.”

A journalist “always on the correct side of an issue???”
Get serious! If you’re batting .300 in the Media League you’re in the Hall of Fame. The best journalists are spectacularly wrong 7 times out of 10. Blatchford was wrong more often than that, but she knew how to carry you with her to the last paragraph. What else matters in this game?
