The Bedford Sackville Weekly News, the Halifax West Weekly News and the Dartmouth Cole-Harbour, as well as TC Media’s flyer distribution business, changed hands officially on Monday, and its employees will move to the Chronicle Herald as part of the acquisition.
“This agreement allows our company to continue to grow and offer local and national brands one trusted source to deliver their customized marketing material,’’ said Mark Lever, the Chronicle Herald’s president and CEO, in an article posted on the newspaper’s website.

TC Media withdrew from the Halifax market “mainly due to the economic environment and the difficult advertising market,” according to an article posted on HalifaxNewsNet.ca.
“As difficult as this decision has been, I believe it is the right thing to do to move our business forward and ultimately strengthen our position in Atlantic Canada,” said Julia Kamula, senior vice-president for the Atlantic region and Saskatchewan at TC Media.
The Chronicle Herald and TC Media did not immediately return J-Source’s requests for more information.
