Canadian Communication Association (CCA) Annual Conference

The Canadian Communication Association invites submissions for our annual conference, to be held in-person from June 1–3, 2027 in Calgary, Alberta. We will be hosted by the School of Communication Studies at Mount Royal University. The CCA will again meet as an independent conference, separate from the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Calgary, located on traditional territory of the peoples of Treaty 7 region, is a good place to think about how communication is bound up with land, energy, space, and time. The city grew up around the railway, and its fortunes have long followed the extraction and export of staple goods, a pattern Harold Innis spent his career tracing. It also offers a view of the country from outside the central and coastal Canadian corridors where much of our field took shape. The CCA last met in Calgary at Congress 2016, and we look forward to returning. We welcome scholars at all career stages to submit abstracts for presentations on the following topics, as well as others that contribute to communication, media, culture and digital technology scholarship in Canada and globally.
