Montreal’s The Gazette has named four producers and four deputies to support the newsroom as it moves to Postmedia’s four-platform strategy.
Associate managing editor Ross Teague is the new web executive producer and will work alongside digital editor Mick Côté, the new deputy web editor and the newsroom champion for online.
Arts and life editor Basem Boshra is the new smartphone producer and will be supported by his deputy Denise Duguay. Meanwhile, night production editor Jeff Blond will become the print producer and Dave Peters his deputy on the print side.
Catherine Wallace is the executive producer for the tablet and copy editor Walter Buchignani will support her as deputy on the tablet side.
“We are all evolving or transitioning from our old to our new roles, from now until the new product launches sometime in the fall,” Wallace told J-Source in an email.
