CBC television host George Stroumboulopoulos will be hosting a brand new show on CNN this summer. The weekly, one-hour series will air 10 episodes on Friday nights. But fear not, Strombo will be back on CBC in the fall.

CBC television host George Stroumboulopoulos will be hosting a brand new show on CNN this summer.

The weekly, one-hour series will air 10 episodes on Friday nights.

"I feel really lucky to have been in broadcasting for 20 years in Canada," Stroumboulopoulos in a CBC article. "And I'm excited to now also bring our conversations with people making the biggest news in entertainment, politics, sports, and pop culture to a whole new audience."

According to the article, the CNN show will "offer a fresh perspective on the interview and talk show format."

"George is genuinely interested in everything, which makes his interviews informative and entertaining explorations," said Vinnie Malhotra, senior VP of development and acquisition for CNN Worldwide. "This compelling series is a sharp, creative addition to our summer Friday schedule."

In 2006, Stroumboulopoulos hosted The One: Making A Music Star on ABC, but the reality show was cancelled just two weeks after its premiere since its ratings were a bust.

Strombo won't be gone from Canadian television sets for long. George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight will be back for its 10th season the fall, CBC's Executive Vice-President of English Services Kirstine Stewart confirmed.
