The fact that social media has changed the way people consume news isn't a new or revolutionary idea. But this infographic from Schools.com shows some general trends to keep an eye on.

The suggestion that social media has changed the way people consume news isn't a new or revolutionary idea. But this infographic from Schools.com certainly points out some general trends in social media news consumption that can be monitored. Also interesting is the assertion that online news revenue has surpassed print revenue. (I wasn't able to verify this via the sources provided, but eMarketer laid out the same argument in their projections earlier this year.)

The specific numbers are all based on U.S. data, but the general trends included in the infographic are still interesting due to the inherent global nature of social media.
