Kamloops This Week has hired three reporters who were laid off last week by its competitor, Kamloops Daily News (KDN), which announced last week that it was shutting down.
Cam Fortems, Catherine Litt and Adam Williams have joined Kamloops This Week, said the newspaper’s associate editor Dale Bass.
“We received many resumes from staff at KDN and from other locations,” Bass told J-Source in an email. “Interviews were prioritized and held on Friday and, after the first few interviews, a decision was made on who we wanted to hire and each [one of the hires] comes to us from KDN.”
[node:ad]Kamloops This Week said it was increasing its publishing frequency from twice a week to three times a week.
