Masthead's top 50 magazines list is full of good news. Indeed, the list, which is based on revenue from ad sales and circulation, shows a 2010 recovery for most magazines.

As a group, shelter and fashion titles rebounded the most, going up an average 29.7 per cent in revenue.

Chatelaine held its number one spot with $49.1-million in total revenue, a growth of 3.58 per cent. The magazine has been tops on the list since 2002. Maclean's — once first — came in third with a revenue gain of nearly 28 per cent, bringing its haul up to $40.7-million. Canadian Living placed second.

Not every magazine won, however. Homemakers slipped 10 spots to 29, earning 31 per cent less revenue than it did the year before. Readers Digest stayed in the top five, but went down nearly 18 per cent in revenue.
