Media on the move: Jan. 16
In the early days of 2019, the Canadian Press announced upcoming cuts to its newsroom, eliminating the video desk and French-language radio broadcasts. Eight full-time and several part-time staffers were laid off due to the changes.
Today, @CdnPress announced it will shut down its video desk next month. The department is made up of extremely talented visual journalists who take raw video and turn them into magical stories. Please hire them @benFsinger @ShetuModi @katmccallum @especerda & Dane Coote #cdnjourn

New year, new job: I'm thrilled to say that starting in February I'll be joining The Canadian Press. I'll be based out of Regina, so I'm not leaving Saskatchewan. In fact, I'll hopefully get to see MORE of the province. I'm grateful for the past 18 months @CBCSask.

Some news: After 3 1/2 years, this is my last day at @Chatelaine. To say that I’m a bit torn up about it is an understatement. I have an exciting new challenge ahead, with a truly excellent team. But I’m also sad about what I’m leaving behind. 1/x

I should announce: I'm working with the fine team @dailyxtra, beginning Monday. I'm super stoked: Writing about LGBTQ+ issues has been a huge part of my young career, and I can't wait to delve into the awesome publication @rachelagiese and co. are building!
