Media on the move: Jan. 29
Here’s who was on the move from Jan. 16 to Jan. 29:
Some *personal* news.
— Mark Iype (@mniype) January 27, 2020
After six years, Wednesday is my last day with Postmedia.
My time as EIC of the Edmonton Journal and Sun was an incredible opportunity and challenge.
A load of fun and I got to work with some amazingly talented journalists.
No idea what's next, so onward.
Congratulations to @peterwklein on being promoted to full professorship, and to @kgretsinger on being appointed Senior Faculty Advisor to @ubcprez! @UBC https://t.co/qC1XCmTCA4

Thanks, Adrian @CBCAdrianH . Great picture. I'm not quite done yet. There's still much to do, including data-journalism training at @CBCOttawa and other locations across the network. Keep up your important work in the growing community that is Ottawa. Talk to you soon. https://t.co/xKGH1KoVqj

Some news for the #cdnfp & #cdnmedia communities: Yesterday, there were layoffs at the organization that funded @OpenCanada and the editorial positions associated with the site were eliminated, including my own. The site is now on hiatus and I can't say what its future will be.
