Memo: Executive editor Jill Borra leaves Globe and Mail
After more than a decade, Borra to leave on Dec. 19
December 9, 2014
To you all,
I wanted to let you know that Jill Borra has decided to leave The Globe and Mail. Jill has been with The Globe for more than a decade, most recently as the executive editor and told me yesterday that it is time for her to take on a new challenge, outside our industry.
Jill’s fingerprints are all over some of our most important initiatives, particularly as the launch editor of Life, Style, Style Advisor and its app. She ran our Features Department, winning a bundle of NNAs. She also organised signature special projects like Salt and End of Decade as well as the Our Time to Lead series.
Jill managed editorial’s digital operations, third party partnerships and has also been a key builder of relations between sales and editorial. Needless to say we will miss her.
Jill’s last day will be December 19 before starting her new job as the Global Director of Communications with G Adventures in the New Year. It sounds like fun. Her office is just around the corner from us so she remains a neighbour.
I know we all wish her the very best success for the future and I would like to thank her very much for all that she has done in the years. A drinks date to add on to our many festive drinks dates to follow.
David Walmsley, Editor in Chief
