**Sent from Anne Marie Owens to National Post staff Thursday March 12:**

Hi all,

As we make our way towards a deeper integration of the central hub into the National Post, we are bringing a few experts from Hamilton into the fold here on Bloor Street.

They will bolster the news desk to help us tackle all of the chain’s national and world news needs — from skedding, to handling the chain’s national and world writers, to editing all wire copy and nationalizing content.

They will report to Rob Roberts, and help us take on the extra load from Hamilton.

All of this is scheduled to take place as of Mar. 23.

Please welcome:

Jack Romanelli, who most recently worked in sports in Hamilton, and who has a long career as an editor, including Halifax, Montreal, Cornwall and the Toronto Sun.

Gary Loewen, who has worked on news and sports desks of the Star, the Globe, the Sun, QMI, the Calgary Herald and the Calgary Sun.

Al Zabas, whom many of you will recall from his long time here at the Post. Al joined the FP in 1995, going on to become a stalwart member of the desk, known as much for his sharp wit as his keen editing eye.

And if you haven’t yet met him, John Size, who came down from the fifth floor about a month ago to help educate us all in the ways of PES.

This is a complicated dance that we are engaged in as we move to power the chain with our story selection and news judgment. The addition of these folks to our team will help make that journey as seamless, and as painless, as possible.

AMO
