CHCH Morning Live’s viewers saw more than they bargained for when Friday morning's news broadcast was overtaken by a porn movie.
As the Hamilton Spectator reports, about three minutes of hard core sex scenes were aired before the CHCH stopped broadcasting.
According to tweets from CHCH, the channel was not hacked, as some early feedback from viewers suggested on Twitter. Instead, the tweets said said the channel’s broadcast was compromised by a mistake outside of its control.
CHCH extends sincere apologies to those viewers who were subjected to the material that took over our signal at 9:33 this morning.

[node:ad]The content did not originate at CHCH but was the result a switching error at one of the cable companies that distributes our signal.

Channel Zero, the broadcasting company which owns CH, also owns two national adult entertainment television channels. That said, CH news director Mike Katryzc told The Spec that the problem “originated at a cable company outside of CH and outside of Channel Zero.”
The reaction on Twitter included a little play-on-words hashtag, #chporninglive. Here are a few more samples of the different reactions on social media:
