Muhammad Lila leaves CBC, begins as ABC foreign correspondent
Canadian journalist Muhammad Lila had been anchoring newscasts and reporting for CBC since 2008, and in that time has covered local, national and international stories. Now, he begins a new role as ABC’s foreign correspondent to Pakistan, Afghanistan and the region.
Canadian journalist Muhammad Lila had been anchoring newscasts and reporting for CBC since 2008, and in that time has covered local, national and international stories. Now, he begins a new role as ABC’s foreign correspondent to Pakistan, Afghanistan and the region.
While Lila has reported from Haiti, Syria, Saudi Arabia and the Himalayas in the past, this is the first time he will be living overseas as a correspondent. Prior to joining CBC, he anchored and reported for CityTV and CP24 in Toronto.
“It's an exciting opportunity in a part of the world that is a big ABC priority,” Lila said in an email. “It’s humbling that they want me in such a critical place.”
[node:ad]Lila’s new position, which was announced yesterday, begins this week. He will spend a few weeks in New York and a week in London before moving to Islamabad, Pakistan, where he will be stationed.
