Quebecor is creating a new Media Group, consolidating its entertainment and news group, that will be headed by Julie Tremblay.
The Media Group includes Sun Media Corp., QMI Agency and TVA Group as well as Out-of-Home, Quebecor Media Sales, Messageries Dynamiques and Quebecor Media Printing Inc.
“Consumers’ media habits have continued to evolve in recent years,” said Pierre Dion, president and CEO of Quebecor, in a news release. “The creation of Media Group maximizes the division’s strengths and combines our skills to provide better, more diverse and distinctive content. Media Group allows us to deliver our content more efficiently and with more agility across all our platforms, and to further our convergence offer which has made our company such a success.”
Tremblay, until recently the CEO of Sun Media Corp., becomes the president and CEO of the Media Group.
“She is a highly talented manager who has worked at Quebecor Inc. for more than 25 years,” Dion said. “Her in‐depth knowledge of the organization and the industry will certainly be an asset for advancing Media Group’s brands. She has my full confidence.”
Tremblay will also serve as president and CEO of TVA Group.
“I am very pleased to accept this new challenge, which represents an opportunity to develop a more integrated, multiplatform and convergent offer for all our audiences and our advertisers,” Tremblay said. “We will focus our efforts on continuing our strategic transformation to strengthen our leadership in entertainment and news media.”
